Hannah Pouliot - Tiny Feet Fertility

Tell us about yourself

My name is Hannah and I am 29 years old. I attended French first language in primary school and high school. Later on, I enrolled at Brescia College to study Psychology and Family Studies. I spent most of my academic years with little to no idea of what I wanted to pursue as a career. I knew that I didn’t like to work for others and I really needed an environment where I could call my own shots. First and foremost, I am a mother to an amazing and free-spirited child. My light and life is my 4 year old son, Keeper. Second to him I spend most of my days with my 3 in 1 sister, best friend and co-worker. As a hobby, I greatly enjoy crafting, prop and party building, and woodwork. I also design and hand make wooden decorations for holidays.

Tell us about your business

Tiny Feet has been in business for 3 years. We have built our agency from the ground up and we started with nothing but an idea and have grown it into a thriving business. At Tiny Feet we link egg donors and intended parents that suffer from infertility. We guide them through the entire cycle and help facilitate the process between agency, donor, intended parent, Lawyer and clinic. Everyday we deal with couples who are feeling lost and defeated in their journey through infertility and we help bring them to the other side. Our donors offer them the gift of lifelong happiness and the answers to their prayers. We have the pleasure of working with incredible people everyday. I run this business with my sister Britney. We are both 6-time egg donors and know the process extremely well. We learned so much about this industry while on our own donor journeys.

What led you to start this business?

Being an egg donor myself was the first experience I ever had within the fertility world. I helped many couples realize their dreams of having a family. I knew early on that my love for this world would not end after 6 donor cycles. I wanted to find a way to still be connected and continue to help individuals and couples grow their families

I have always felt I was destined to be an entrepreneur. In some sense I feel this is in my blood. I was never meant to stay the course and work in a job that proved to have limitations for growth both financially and mentally. Over the course of my life I have always chosen the path least followed and experienced the most incredible things because of it. Starting my own business was inevitable but being apart of such an amazing thing was a true blessing. I wake up every single day happy to start work and go to bed each night wishing I had more time to send a few more emails. I absolutely love what I do and believe that it was both my greatest destiny and blessing in life to start this business.

As a busy entrepreneur, what do you like to do when you take a break?

One of my favorite pass times is to craft and do woodwork. I make party props and holiday decorations. As someone who has trouble being idle, I find it’s the perfect pass time for me. I enjoy working on projects and challenging myself. I love taking custom orders and really flourish when I need to find creative ways around making something work. If you’ve driven by a wooden grinch lawn decoration in the City, you’ve probably seen my work.

If you could sit down with any business leader or industry expert, who would you choose and why?

One of my biggest influencers is Jen Sincero. I have read most of her work multiple times and hang onto her words for guidance and advice. I feel her thoughts and theories about positive energies and manifesting good things have really shaped my attitude and outlook on my business ethic. I would really love to sit down with her and get her views and advice about how to run my specific business. When we face challenges in our job we often ask ourselves “what would Jen say?”.

What’s the best business advice you’ve ever received and why?

I think the two most important and influential pieces of advice I have received about business are as follows. First and foremost, believe you can do it. Manifest the outcome you want and see to it that you and the universe combined deliver it. Don’t waste time thinking about the things that could go wrong and making excuses for every solution. Decide what you want from your business and then follow whatever path it takes to get you there. Mastering a successful business is more mental than you may believe. Secondly, charge what you value your time or product at. When deciding what to price your services or products, don’t worry about undercutting the competitors in order to get your foot in the door. Don’t even worry about being comparable. Your price should be based on what you feel reflects its value and don’t ever doubt it. Setting a price based on someone else’s is only a reflection of what they value their time and effort at. If you have a truly spectacular product/service that you can stand behind, people will pay what you ask. Don’t make the mistake of thinking that everyone is on a budget, there is a lot of money out in the world that the universe wants to give you. You must demand it.
